Where Did This Star Come From
Once and a while there are nursery rhymes that never get old and to this day, ‘The Star’ is a favorite among parents and kids. Jane Taylor (1783-1824), was born in London, England. She was only 23 years old when she wrote ‘The Star’ along with her sister Ann. Mrs. Taylor’s mother was a writer also. It was noted that she expressed explicit love and tenderness between a mother and child while they gazed at the evening stars.’The Star’ was in the first stanza of the poem in the popular English children’s book, Rhymes for the Nursery, published in 1806. The original book is held by the British Library.
