Children Recognizing their Parents

Babies
Babies are brand new to the world and they don’t know much, at least, not yet! They know how to get food, which is usually milk and are able to communicate by crying for the first few months. They are considered tiny humans and they need help to learn, grown and develop how they should.

Months
Usually around 6 to 9 months, they develop an idea child development specialists call ‘object permanence‘. This is the idea that things (and people) still exist even if they are out of sight. This concept is developed by the time that children typically learn to crawl and move around more. This is also the time that they can have a hard time with their moms not being right there with them but in another room. In order to develop the object permanence, most parents play peek a boo lyrics with their babies.

Surprise
Most people love surprises and there are plenty of them when you are learning about the world around you. One of the fun surprises is when you’re a baby and have just discovered your eyes fingers and toes. You also enjoy peek a boo lyrics from anyone who will want to play with you! It is heartwarming to see those surprised looks you get when you reveal your face for the 15th time.

Repetition
Repetition is the repeating of something until it forms a pattern. For many adults, patterns turn into habits and habits turn into routines. There is a need for practicing something over and over if you want to become great at something. You can practice many things like a musical instrument, spelling, mathematics and the list absolutely can go on! Repetition is also good for babies too, so they know when they will be fed when their parent will read them a book and generally help them throughout their day. Babies need this help for 2-3 years or so since it takes them as long to get more independent.

Every day
Every day babies learn and grow. They learn in all sorts of ways from different kinds of people, too. They learn from their parents, siblings and extended family. If they go into nursery school or daycare, they learn there as well. It has been said many times that ‘It takes a village to raise a child’, and it’s true. No one person can teach your child everything. This is why children need friends and people they want to be like to learn and grow as they should. Every day children grow, too. Some things are learned quickly, other things take years to learn. Each bit of knowledge that you do have is stored in your brain and the brain is amazing the way it can recall bits of knowledge from years ago. It’s amazing what you can remember when you really concentrate. Every day, things get better.
