Kids’ Songs with Motions

There are many kids songs where they can do hand movements that go along with the words. Not only does this help them remember the songs but it also helps them have some level of physical activity. This article is going to talk about 3 of those songs and go into a little bit of detail on them.

Clap Your Hands Song
The Clap Clap Your Hands Song is a really upbeat and fun song. Not only does it help children learn where various body parts are, but it also helps them with hand coordination since part of the song is to touch the body parts. In addition to learning body parts, it also helps kids get up and dance which can help them get some form of physical activity. Depending on where you listen to this song, there are a few different versions but the only thing different is the way it’s worded and the speed of the singing and music. Every version teaches children the same body parts and where they are located. Another thing that differs are the videos. Different sources have different characters in the videos. No matter which version your child sees, the characters are fun and easy it relate to.

Teddy Bear Dance
For the most part, the Teddy Bear Dance has pretty much the same words no matter what the source is. Some of the words may be a little different such as turn off the light and turn out the light. With that being said, the idea of the song is still the same. The point of this song is to help teach children to follow directions, as well as getting up and being physically active. When looking at the lyrics, it could also be that it’s helping children get their excess energy out before laying down and going to bed for the night. Being able to jump and stretch can help little ones wind down so they sleep better and fall asleep quicker. Most of the videos are very similar but, with everything, it is going to differ depending on where you watch or listen to the song at.

Dinosaur Stomp
The Dinosaur Stomp song is a really fun little song. Not only does it help children learn about dinosaurs but the movements in the song make them feel like they are a dinosaur. This is great for promoting pretend play and developing their imagination. This song would be great in a group of kids because they can all pretend to be dinosaurs together and have a really fun time learning. Another really cool thing about this song is that the animated video shows the children how to do movements in the light from a flashlight and their shadows look like actual dinosaurs! All the different lyrics are pretty much the same and the videos are too.

While these are only 3 kids songs that include doing motions, there are so many other ones. These types of songs are made to be fun and promote learning, as well as pretend play in children. No matter what songs you choose to show your little one, they are sure to have a great time!
