Fun Games for Kids to Learn Colors and Numbers
Every day we use skills we learn in grade school for many things from  problem solving to what colors to use when matching outfits. While, it might seem like every child is growing fast, it’s important they learn the basic skills needed to count, problem solve, and be able to learn more in the future educational programs. Learning doesn’t always have to be boring, or dull for kids either! It can be fun and with the vast majority of apps on the market; there are many options available on the go.

Learning Numbers with Playing Cards

Learning new numbers can be done at home with nothing but a deck of cards. Did you ever think this hands On approach would be so fun? With a deck of cards, and some time children can learn a matching game. Take the cards and lay them out by one suit and let your child match each remaining suit and number to the other cards.

Sidewalk Simon

Are you looking for a fun and silly game to play with your toddler? Learning a color can be a blast with this sidewalk game. With only sidewalk chalk and a few directions kids can learn patterns and be active. This game can be played in the back yard or on the driveway. This game is Toddler Approved and Mom approved.

Mixing Color

PBS offers the idea to use play dough and mix a color with another. These two will become another color and give the child a fun activity and give them a chance to explore new textures. While offering ideas of how to make play dough at home, play dough can also be found at your local toy stores. This too can be used as a fun Valentine’s Day activity.

Minecraft
Kids Minecraft games also provide opportunities for children to problem solve and develop teamwork and social skills.
Technology Rules

With technology there are many options out on the market to learn how to count and other children’s number games. Leapfrog offers a fun exciting way to learn numbers by incorporating music and activity time. With a game counting from one to ten using claps, kids will be able to have fun while learning. If your kids have a tablet or a playtime cell phone, there is an app for that. Young children can play a game called “Crazy Colors” and learn how to match colours in groups. The game is meant for kids to get rid of the different groups on the screen. There is a magic bubble that can be changed to a different color so it will match. It can be a challenging game on the phone, but can be played offline.

No matter what you do it is important to remember to have fun when teaching kids games about problem solving and counting. Having a good time will be beneficial to both you and your little ones.
