If unfortunately, the trip becomes less comfortable every day the kid would end up disliking the idea of going to school and ultimately their performance would be affected. It is towards this end that teachers came up with school bus youtube song to keep the children active and amused during their bus trips. The songs which have a repetitive melody are easy to memorize and fun for the kids to sing an example of such a song is “The Wheels on the Bus.”
Origin of the Rhyme
This nursery rhyme is an American folk song which was composed in early 1937 by Verna Hills of Boston Massachusetts. The song has gained popularity in different countries being translated into local dialect it is easy to learn because of its repetitive rhyme.
The melody of the song is based on a popular circle-dance song known as “Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush.” Whose origin can be traced back to Britain and was meant to be sung and learned in a group with kids performing hand motions since it is a cyclically-structured song.
Rhyme Execution
The first part of the rhyme talks about the bus’ wheels going round and round (the students roll hands around each other), then the second part is about the wipers of the bus going swish, swish (the students move their hands in front of them motioning windshield wipers). The following part talks about the people chatting on the bus, and then the horn goes beep, beep (they slap their palms like honking a horn). Then the baby goes wah, wah (the students rub fists on their eyes) and the mummy goes sshh, ssh (Hold the index finger in front of their mouth).
Variations have been made to include other verses which talk about the driver and other actions but the idea is still to engage the learner’s mind to absorb the daily happenings of a bus ride.
