An Ageless Nursery Rhyme
Star light star bright first star i see tonight poem is an age less nursery rhyme. It has been around for generations. Children everywhere have been reciting this poem traditionally right before bedtime. So where did this rhyme start? What it’s history? Why do kids love this classic?
Where Did It Come From
The origin is not too well known on how thus nursery rhyme was created. It made a debut in one of Will de Grasse’s pieces entitled “ Swallows On The Wing O’er Garden Springs of Delight: A Medley of Prose and Verse”. Some say it was created because of superstition. The rhyme was also seen as a spy. Others believed it can about in the American 19th Century. Whatever the reason, kids became the target audience. This is the only known version to exist of this classic poem.
What Is The Importance
So why would a child recite this beautiful piece in the first place? It was brought up that if they looked out the bedroom at night and saw a falling star that they should make a wish. Once that was done, the wish would come true. Of course, no one knows who came up with the concept. However, it does not matter. Making a wish on a falling star has been passed down through generations of children. Even in our time, our little ones still believe their dreams will come true because of this rhyme. History just keeps repeating itself with this one. It is good though that a young child would take interest in falling stars. Parents have a chance to explain how that happened. This adds to their education in science. It is something they can discuss with their class, and get more information on from their teacher. The only characters involved are the falling stars and the children that wish on them. No animals, dolls, footballs, or toys come to life on this one. Of course, if a child wishes for those things and they come to pass, then that is a different story.
Using It As A Teaching Tool
Teaching your baby this rhyme, once they learn to talk is a very good thing. You are starting them off right in learning about the universe and how it works. Teachers can use this to teach a bit of astronomy. This gets children interested in space exploration. Once they learn what falling stars are, then it is on to the Milky Way and planets. Next meteors are brought into the picture. That rhyme brings so much adventure and excitement to it.
Why Should I Let My Child Learn It
