Teaching with Nursery Rhymes

Kindergarten students can learn by exploring different avenues with reading a story in a classroom setting. Teachers generally pick a nursery rhyme, such as the three little kittens, the students will then determine the story’s characters and be able to create a map of them. They will also put together masks or draw pictures of the kittens to be able to identify with the characters. Teachers can have their class craft puppets and the kids will be able to grasp an understanding of how the kittens feel in the story.

More Kids Songs
